I’m Gary Kanz, a photographer and web designer from the Pacific Northwest. My journey in web design began in 2006 when I started my own business at age 14. Since then, I’ve created websites for a wide range of businesses.

Photography, however, has always been my passion. After getting my first DSLR, I quickly developed a deep appreciation for capturing the world through my lens, mainly focusing on nature, astrophotography, and pet photography as a hobby. Now, Kanz Studios offers Lifestyle and Pet photography sessions, sharing my experience and passion for capturing moments with a wider audience.

When I’m not behind the lens, I serve as COO of Fort Fido, a dog daycare and boarding facility with locations in University Place and Puyallup. I started working there in 2008 at age 16.

On a personal note, I’ve been married to my wife Liz since 2022. We share our home in the Tacoma, WA area with our two dogs, May—a Border Collie—and Pippa—a miniature long-haired dachshund—as well as our cat, Mack. Living in the Pacific Northwest, I have a deep appreciation for its natural beauty, which constantly inspires my work.
